About Me

I have been scrapbooking since way before it morphed into the art it is today.  I still have the first scrapbook that I started in 1979.  It says “Snaps & Scraps” on the front and was a gift.  I can’t remember who gave it to me, but it started me on a journey that I never dreamed would lead me to my current life.

Things sure have changed since way back then.  Basically, when I started, I just pasted whatever memento I had on the pages and wrote the date.  I’m sure it took me all of 2 seconds.  Now I shudder to think how many hours go into my current books.

I have always been interested in preserving my memories.  I have always kept a diary, taken photos, and saved scraps of days gone by.  Once I liked the cologne that a boyfriend wore so much that I begged him for the bottle when it was empty.  That bottle sat on my shelf for years, and I smelled it frequently.  Okay, that might be a weird story for those of you who don’t know me very well, but my closest friends can probably remember what brand it was.  (Needless to say, I’m a little OCD, or AR, or something without an official name.)

All that has led me to the place my life is in today.  A little over 2 years ago, I got together with some friends to work on our books.  A couple of them had attended a Close to my Heart party and had some of the idea books with them.  Well, my first thought when looking through the pages was where have you been all my life.  I had to know more.  Thus began my journey of being an “independent consultant.”

I have been holding workshops and home gatherings every since, and my customer base has grown substantially.  I truly LOVE getting together with all “the girls” who like scrappin’ as much as I do.  I have made lots of new friends, and I like seeing that look of accomplishment they have when they’ve completed a new layout.
