I made this little nugget purse for all my club members for Christmas. It holds one small Hershey’s chocolate nugget. Just a little Christmas “happy.” I got the idea from a tutorial I found online.
The bookmarks (or large paperclips) I made with a flower punch, a smaller circle punch, and a fun collection of little mini my acrylix stamps. I made these 2-sided, but on some of them I used my cuttlebug to emboss the back flower, and didn’t stamp on it.

stamped image, shadow-stamped image
To “fill in” the background area around your stamps and give a different look, try shadow stamping. Using clear My Acrylix stamps such as this one from next month’s workshop, you can do this technique. First stamp your image with the ink color of choice, then clean your stamp and peel it off the block. Next turn the image backward and adhere to the block so that the “smooth” uncut side of the stamp is facing out. Ink up your image, stamp once on scratch paper, and then stamp on top of your first impression without reinking. Make sure to line up your outline over the image. Use the same color ink, or use a contrasting color for a different effect. Happy stamping!

For my November layout clubs/workshops, we will be using the Sweet Home paper pack. I like the fall colors in these papers because they are not strictly “outdoorsy,” as so many fall papers are. They are very versatile. If you would like to join us to make 4 12×12 layout pages, contact me by November 1st. And be on the lookout for Christmas card workshops and more, also coming up soon.

Paper covered photo corners, stamped other pieces
Using dimensional elements (pre-cut chipboard pieces) is a great way to add some layers to your layouts. And covering the pieces with paper is an easy way to make them coordinate. I like to use a clear tape runner, such as tombow, to cover the piece, then adhere my paper. After trimming away the excess, I use my finishing files to file in a downward motion. This gives a finished look to the piece.
Finishing files are especially made for scrapbooking by Close to My Heart. You can order them and cute dimensional elements in many shapes from my website, http://jenniferjohnson24.myctmh.com , or by contacting me to place your order.
